Hello all
9:05 PM on 18-Jul-2008

I figured that I would start this and see what happens.  I am trying to get everything setup here at this house and it is certainly nice to be able to have antennas out where they get a sunburn.  Only antenna at the moment is a Gap Eagle DX vertical for 10-40 meters.  I have to start digging a hole for the tower, that hopefully should happen in the fall.  Presently trying to accumulate the antennas for the tower and get the old TV antenna and rotor down so that I can put some antennas up there.  Slowly but surely between work and play it will get done

Just picked up a TS-830, working on my TS-930AT. The 930 is a great radio, when it works. Going through the power supply and resoldering all of them. Also following a couple of TSBs from Kenwood on some other concerns. Really want to get it working again. Have another radio that will require more than my feeble attempts at repair. This is my favorite radio out of all the ones here. It is a Yaesu FT DX 400, 560 watts input. Gonna be real careful with this one.

Hello, everything is possible in this hobby, I live in a deed restriced community and as you know HOA don't like antennas and stuff going up above your fence hi hi, Here I'm using and Srewdriver antenna for HF, for V & UHF use a dualband from cushcraft, and installed in a tripod about 12 15 foot tall I have a 3 band beam (TH33JR) from Hi gain (It Works) no one complain (so far) and for 40, 80, & 160m I have a delta loop hanging all around the fence and part of the house and work very well too, so whatever you get in your property will work... 73's take your time & take care....

In my previous house, townhouse condo, I was limited in operating. Presently I am limited here to HF (10-40m). I am in an automotive related business and cover a large territory in Maryland and Delaware. My territory includes near Washington DC, up through Belair MD to the Atlantic. I also cover Kent and Sussex Counties in Delaware. My Jeep Cherokee is equipped with an Icom 706MKIIG which is mostly used for HF operation. It also has a Yaesu FT-7800, I think, dual bander for VHF/UHF operation as necessary. I like the two radio availability so that I can still monitor VHF/UHF while operating HF. Antennas are a Lil' Tarheel screwdriver (6-40m) and a Comet SBB-7. I spend a lot of time on the County Hunters Net (14.336) making contacts for others in different Counties.
