KK5AA posted a comment on the group Packet Radio:
Well, WinPak didn't do what I wanted so I tried the old LanLink but WinXP doesn't like it AT ALL. So, I downloaded the latest version of LanLink and it seems to work just fine. Only one working packet node with no BBS in this area...

KK5AA posted a comment on the group Northwest Arkansas UHF Society:
Well, I found all the pieces to my discone antenna and got it on the top of a 20' piece of fence rail. Worked the 440 machine on Mt Magazine and chatted with an OM in Hot springs village. Nice to be back on 70cm again.

Yeh that is correct. Several weeks ago XP did an update that places a restriction on older programs. So if you want to use WinPack on XP you have to go into the Program Compatability Wizard and adjust it to open as an older program. We had our first Packet Net on our Club's node with several stations. Some came in via TelNet and others via RF. We sent smal text files as part of an exercise. Mike

I use WinPack with both Win98 and also XP via my Toughbook. Under XP you have to go into the Program Compatability Wiz and have it run with the Win 98 settings. I also change the resolution too. XP gets dumb sonetimes and forgets, so you hv to refresh it. 73 de Mike
