Wonder if anyone is mode-S capable. I think I have receive capability now. Next pass that mode S is active on AO-51 and I'm available, I'm going to test. Then if you hear me on, give me a call!

Incredible how well mode S works on AO-51! I was experimenting this past week while the bird was in L/S. Antennas a foot long hear the bird full quieting. Been playing with linear yagi's as well as helixes. The last helix I tried consists of 15 turns and is about 12-13 inches long. The receive converter is a California Amplifier MMTS unit, slightly modified to make work on 2400 MHz. Now all I need is a couple watts on 1268 MHz.
